
Khalid Salmi
Khalid Salmi is a Senior Expert in Sustainable Energy Management at the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE). He holds a degree in Mechanical Energy Engineering and a Master’s in Renewable Energy Engineering. Since joining RCREEE in 2014, Khalid has led the center’s work on sustainable energy standardization and certification, as well as the development of its green hydrogen portfolio.
His efforts focus on aligning green hydrogen initiatives in the Arab region with global standards, helping to unlock the potential of renewable-based Power-to-X (PtX) solutions. The goal is to maximize the economic, social, and environmental benefits of this emerging sector across RCREEE member states.
With over 11 years of professional experience, Khalid has managed and coordinated numerous regional and international projects in partnership with Arab governments, international organizations, development banks, and UN agencies. His work supports the deployment of green technologies and clean energy solutions to address economic and environmental challenges across the region.
