Christos Iraklis

Energy storage and smart grid expert with extensive experience in BESS, virtual power plants (VPP), microgrids, and renewable energy integration. He previously worked with WMG (UK) and DNV (USA & UAE) as a battery test engineer and energy storage consultant, contributing to large-scale renewable and storage projects. At DEWA R&D, he served as Senior R&D Engineer in the Smart Grid Integration team, leading work on a Virtual Power Plant pilot project. He also worked at Sargent & Lundy as a Senior Energy Consultant focusing on VPP, wind, solar, and BESS technologies. He currently leads Energy Storage initiatives within the Innovation & New Technology department at ACWA Power, UAE.
