Debmalya is an energy sector professional with more than 13 years of experience across conventional and clean energy sectors. Over the last 13 years he has played various roles across operations, project development, asset management, business development and management consulting. He holds a bachelor’s degree in instrumentation engineering, a masters in thermal power plant engineering and an MBA in Finance from SP Jain School of Global Management where he was on the dean’s list and awarded the Global Citizenship award.

Debmalya presently is the President of India Energy Storage Alliance where he leads an alliance of 180+ members across the value chain, helping them in their journey on accelerating energy storage deployment. He works closely with the Government and Private sector to give key recommendations on energy storage. He is also a recognized subject matter expert in energy storage by CEA.

Before joining IESA , Debmalya was the India Lead of World Economic Forum, and a management consultant in KPMG where he led advisory work on energy storage and renewables, prior to that he spent 9 years working with Apraava Energy. Debmalya is also a selected mentor by ESMAP (World Bank) for energy storage and he mentors young women engineers interested in making a career in the energy storage domain.
